Relates to the design and construction of buildings in which concrete blocks are used for the construction of the walls. Does not cover the design of steel-reinforced masonry except that minimum reinforcement is specified for "nominal bond beams" not intended as structural members carrying design loads. Fire protection requirements are not specified in these rules but some notes on fire resistance are included in Appendix A.
