Applies to the welding of concrete reinforcing steel bar splices, steel connection devices, inserts, anchors and anchor details, including prefabricated assemblies required in reinforced concrete construction, both in the fabrication shop and in the field. The standard also covers the connection by butt or fillet welds of parts fabricated by connections involving the joining of reinforceing bar to steel plate, rolled sections or hollow sections. Interconnection of precast concrete members may be made by welding reinforcing bars projecting through the ends, by fillet or butt welds in accordance with this standard.
