This code sets out rules for the installation of fixed flued appliances which consume heating oil in burners of the vaporizing type, i.e those which vaporize the oil by heat only without preliminary break-up of the oil by mechanical or other means. The appliances are designed primarily for the heating of individual residences. The Code includes installation requirements of the heating appliance, the associated flue, the oil storage tank and the fuel pipeline from the storage tank to the burner. It does not include design requirements for the appliance except the requirement that the appliance shall meet the tests specified in Appendix B, nor does it include installation requirements of any system for distribution of warm air or hot water from a central heating appliance.
