This code is designed to cover the determination of the performance and efficiency of pumps when handling water. The matter relating to the measurement of discharge and head is applicable to tests of rotary and reciprocating pumps provided that proper precautions are taken to damp down pulsations of flow and pressure at the measuring devices.
