This rating system provides a means of defining acceptable levels of performance in accelerated corrosion tests where required for coatings of tin, tin-nickel, nickel and chromium on most basis metals, and anodic coatings on aluminum. Very small articles (e.g. less than about 5x5 mm) may be considered unsuitable for assessment by this method.
