This method is intended for assessing the resistance of the colour of textiles of all kinds and in all forms to the action of a neutral detergent solution as used in conditions of machine laundering. The method is established as guide to the determination of the fastness to washing of coloured textiles. It takes no account of any effect of fluorescent brightening agents or other additives which may be present in commercial soaps or from other sources.
