This Standard specifies the product requirements for wet-processed fibreboards, including hardboard, medium board and softboard, as classified in Clause 5. This Standard is equivalent to the industrial Standard harmonized between the wood panel industries in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, known as JANS 23.

Originated as part of AS O114-1968 and AS O116-1968.
Previous edition AS/NZS 1859.4(Int):2001.
Jointly revised and designated as AS/NZS 1859.4:2004.
