This part of ISO 4254 specifies safely requirements for winches used on forestry machinery and agricultural machinery used in forestry.It applies only to skidding winches mounted on mobile forestry machinery, e.g. skidders and forwarders and on agricultural machinery used in forestry operations. All winches used in cable logging systems are excluded.ISO 4254-1 provides guidelines and requirements regarding the prevention of accidents arising from the use of tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry.It gives general guidelines to be met when designing tractors and machines.The requirements of ISO 4254-1 shall be met in addition to those given in this part of ISO 4254.
