Adopts IEC 60601-2-13:2003 to provide safety and essential requirements for an anaesthetic system as well as individual devices designed for use in an anaesthetic system. Does not apply to anaesthetic systems intended for use with flammable anaesthetic agents, portable anaesthetic systems for use in remote sites, open fields for rescue operations or in disaster areas, or to dental analgesia apparatus.
