Specifies particular requirements for the safety of electroencephalographs in addition to the general requirements of the parent Standard AS 3200.1.0-1990 (NZS 6150:1990). This Standard is to be read in conjunction with AS 3200.1.0-1990. It is identical with and reproduced from IEC 601-2-26:1994. It includes an Appendix, ZZ, of additional requirements specific to Australia and New Zealand.

Addition:This Standard specifies the particular safety requirements for ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHS (EEG) as defined in 2.102 hereinafter and also referred to as EQUIPMENT.The special requirements for other equipment also used in electroencephalography are not covered by this Standard, for example: cerebral function monitors; phono-photic stimulators; EEG telemetry; EEG data storage and retrieval; EEG EQUIPMENT particularly intended for monitoring during electro-convulsive therapy.
