This Standard sets out performance characteristics of devices used in, and procedures for, the removal and disposal of scalpel blades and similar instruments, e.g. stitch cutters, from scalpel handles.NOTE: This Standard is to be used in conjunction with AS 4031 and AS/NZS 4261 to the extent that it relates to containers accompanying devices used for the purposes of scalpel blade removal. This Standard should also be read in conjunction with AS/NZS 3816.
