Applies to radiological installations with diagnostic X-ray systems designed to expose intra-orally placed image receptors such as films and photostimulable phosphor sensosrs. It does not apply to- (a) systems using electronic image receptors such as charge coupled devices; and (b) diagnostic X-ray systems designed to expose extra-orally placed image receptors such as dental panoramic equipment and equipment for cephalometric radiography. This Standard modifies, and has been reproduced from, IEC 61223-2-7:1999 with variations for Australia and New Zealand included in a ZZ Appendix.
