This part of International Standard IEC 1331 applies to PROTECTIVE GLASS PLATES for use inRADIOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT or in RADIOLOGICAL INSTALLATIONS where an optical transmission ofvisual images, TYPE SC, or other kind of viewing, TYPE VI, through PROTECTIVE SHIELDING is to be realized.It does not cover other transparent RADIATION PROTECTION materials, e.g.- plastic transparent protection plates (lead acrylate plastics),- leaded glasses or goggles for protection of the OPERATORS, eyes (eye spectacles),- leaded face shields, which cover the entire face of the OPERATOR,- PATIENT eye protection. and- thyroid/neck PROTECTIVE DEVICES.
