This International Standard deals with the safety of electric blankets, pads, clothing and other flexible appliances that heat the bed or human body, for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 volt.
This Standard will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.17:2004 three years from the date of publication (i.e. on 26 October 2015). During this period it is anticipated that regulatory authorities will approve blankets, pads, clothing and similar flexible heating appliances to either standard.
