AS/NZS 60335.2.21:2023 deals with the safety of electric storage water heaters for household and similar purposes and intended for heating water below boiling temperature, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances including direct current (DC) supplied appliances and battery-operated appliances.
This Standard will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.21:2013 three years from the date of publication (i.e. on 1 December 2026). During this period AS/NZS 60335.2.21:2013 will also remain current. Regulatory authorities that reference this Standard in regulation may apply these requirements at a different time. Users of this Standard should consult with these authorities to confirm their requirements.
