AS/NZS 60335.2.40:2024 deals with the safety of electric heat pumps, sanitary hot water heatpumps and air conditioners, incorporating motor-compressors as well as hydronic fan coilsunits, dehumidifiers (with or without motor-compressors), thermoelectric heat pumps and partial units. Their maximum rated voltage being not more than 300 V for single phase appliances and 600 V for multi-phase appliances.
This Standard will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.40:2019 three years from the date of publication (i.e. on 30 June 2026). During this period AS/NZS 60335.2.40:2019 will also remain current. Regulatory authorities that reference this Standard in regulation may apply these requirements at a different time. Users of this Standard should consult with these authorities to confirm their requirements.
