AS/NZS 60335.2.54:2023 deals with the safety of electric cleaning appliances for household use that are intended for cleaning surfaces by using liquid cleansing agents or steam, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V including direct current (DC) supplied appliances and battery-operated appliances. It also covers wallpaper strippers and surface cleaning appliances incorporating heating elements or means for pressurizing the liquid container.
This Standard will supersede AS/NZS 60335.2.54:2010 three years from the date of publication (i.e. on 1 December 2026). During this period AS/NZS 60335.2.54:2010 will also remain current. Regulatory authorities that reference this Standard in regulation may apply these requirements at a different time. Users of this Standard should consult with these authorities to confirm their requirements.
