This guideline applies to new and existing centralized hot and cold potable building water systems and to nonpotable building water systems in human-occupied commercial, institutional, multiunit-residential, and industrial buildings, including hotels, office buildings, hospitals and other health care facilities, assisted living facilities, schools, universities, commercial buildings, industrial buildings, and centralized systems in multifamily residential buildings.
