1.1This test method covers the measurement of the elastic and short-term creep characteristics of conductors for overhead power lines.
1.2Stress-strain data from tests performed in accordance with IEC 61089 are compliant with this standard.
1.3Stress-strain data from prior Aluminum Association testing procedures are compliant with this standard.
1.4The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
