Abstract - (Show below) - (Hide below)

CONTAINED IN VOL. 02.01, 2018 Specifies the requirements for copper-zinc-tin-bismuth alloy rod, bar and wire of alloy UNS Nos. C49250, C49255, C49260, C49265, C49300, C49340, C49345, C49350, C49355, and C49360 intended for use in plumbing applications and drinking water systems.

Scope - (Show below) - (Hide below)

1.1This specification establishes the requirements for copper-zinc-tin-bismuth alloy rod, bar and wire of alloy UNS Nos. C49250, C49255, C49260, C49265, C49300, C49340, C49345, C49350, C49355, and C49360 intended for use in plumbing applications and drinking water systems.

1.2Typically, rod and bar product made to this specification is furnished as straight lengths. Wire (H04) 0.08 to 0.3 in. [2 to 8 mm inclusive] is furnished in coil form, and H50 shapes.

1.3Units—The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.

1.4The following safety hazard caveat pertains only to the test method(s) described in this specification.

1.4.1This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

1.5This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
