1.1This test method covers the procedure for determining the tensile strength by a mass method for uninsulated stranded electrical conductors intended for use in electronic application (Explanatory Note 1).

1.1.1The test method is intended for conductors that are one type of wire (non-composite). The wire type being plain, clad, or coated and stranded together to operate mechanically and electrically as a single conductor.

1.2The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.

1.3This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Some specific hazards statements are given in Section 7 on Hazards.
