1.1This practice covers the mixing, casting and curing of monolithic refractory concrete specimens under laboratory conditions for use in further testing. It does not apply to monolithic castable refractories intended primarily for gunning applications.
1.2The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
1.3Various specimen sizes are required for specific test methods. Refer to these test methods to determine the size and number of specimens, which will be required from the sample.
