1.1This test method covers the determination of the relative activation level of unused or reactivated carbons by adsorption of iodine from aqueous solution. The amount of iodine absorbed (in milligrams) by 1 g of carbon using test conditions listed herein is called the iodine number.

1.2The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
