1.1ÂThis test method describes a procedure for the determination of water soluble sodium as sodium oxide (Na₂O) and potassium as potassium oxide (K₂O) in the analysis of coal samples prepared in accordance with Practice D2013.

1.3ÂThis test method is derived in part from the ASME procedure water soluble alkalis.
