1.1ÂThis practice uses dilute nitric acid to clean glass and plastic labware used in laboratories preparing and analyzing samples for metal and metalloid content.

1.2ÂPractice D5245 describes cleaning labware used in microbiological analyses. Practice D8589 describes cleaning labware used in organic analyses.
