ASTM D 850 : 2025

1.1This test method covers the distillation of industrial aromatic hydrocarbons and related materials of relatively narrow boiling ranges from 30 °C to 250 °C. Warning—This test method is not applicable for styrene which will exothermically polymerize during the distillation process.

1.2The following applies to all specified limits in this test method: for the purposes of determining conformance to this test method, an observed or calculated value shall be rounded off “to the nearest unit” in the last right-hand digit used in expressing the specification limit, in accordance with the rounding-off method of Practice E29.

1.3Warning—Mercury has been designated by EPA and many state agencies as a hazardous material that can cause central nervous system, kidney and liver damage.
