1.1This test method uses high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to determine nitrogen trichloride levels in liquid chlorine at the 0.1 μg/g (ppm) to 600 μg/g (ppm) range. Solvent samples from chlorine production facilities containing very high concentrations of nitrogen trichloride may be analyzed by dilution with methanol.
1.2Review the current safety data sheet (SDS) for detailed information concerning toxicity, first aid procedures, and safety precautions.
1.3The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
1.4The following applies for the purposes of determining the conformance of the test results using this test method to applicable specifications, results shall be rounded off in accordance with the rounding-off method of Practice E29.
