1.1A method for determining bat performance by measuring the bat-ball coefficient of restitution (BBCOR) and deriving the bat performance factor (BPF). It is applicable to softball and baseball bats of any construction or material. The method provides a quantitative measure of bat dynamic performance that may be used for comparison purposes.
1.2The BBCOR and BPF are calculated from measurements taken in the laboratory on test equipment meeting the requirements defined in this method.
1.3The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
