1.1This guide is intended to assist in the selection of walkway surfaces and treatments where the reasonably foreseeable presence of aggressive contaminants produces the risk of a fall event(s) in commercial and industrial environments (not including construction work), for persons wearing appropriate footwear. These guidelines may not be adequate for those with certain mobility impairments.
1.2Administrative controls such as written safety policies, rules, supervision, schedules, and training are not addressed in this standard.
1.3Personal protective equipment (PPE) is not addressed in this standard except as noted herein.
1.4This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
