The scope of this standard is to identify and adapt as necessary 3GPP common IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) emergency procedures for applicability in North America to support emergency communications originating from an IMS subscriber (fixed, nomadic1, or mobile) and delivered to a National Emergency Number Association (NENA) i3 Emergency Services IP network (i3 ESInet) and associated NG9-1-1 Core Services (NGCS), or to a legacy Selective Router.
