This standard identifies and, where necessary, adapts 3GPP common IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) emergency
procedures for applicability in North America and ensure support for emergency communications originating from IMS subscribers—whether fixed, nomadic, or mobile—and delivered to one of the following types of emergency service networks: • i3 Emergency Services IP network (i3 ESInet) and its associated Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) Core Services (NGCS), • Selective Router, or • Text Control Center (TCC).
