This Technical Report presents the results of an investigation into the feasibility of algorithms to determine the presence of load coils on metallic pairs assigned to digital subscriber lines and transport technologies such as ISDN, HDSL, ADSL, DOV, DLC, etc. Two algorithms are described in this Report, the Loss Measurement Algorithm (LMA) and the Driving Point Impedance (DPI) Algorithm.
