Proposes recommended rules for the design of private networks. The draft addresses matters to be considered by designers in order that the network provides an acceptable quality of service. Recommendations are given relating to safety and interference, network configurations, transmission, signalling, numbering, traffic handling and network management. The draft recognises intelligence resident in modern switching equipment and proposes scenarios by which AUSTEL Standards may be met using that intelligence for some national call cases. Appendices of supporting information are provided.
