A Force required to actuate cast-iron sluice gate

Describes vertically mounted, wall thimble, cast iron sluice gates designed for seating or unseating head or both in ordinary water supply or wastewater service. They have machine metal faces and adjustable wedging devices. Used for square, rectangular or round openings. Can be conventional closure or flush bottom closure type.
