This standard pertains to 4 in. through 12 in. PVC pressure pipe made from Class 12454-A or Class 12454-B materials providing a hydrostatic design base (HDB) of 4000 psi and conforming with the outside diameter (OD) dimensions of steel pipe (IPS) or cast iron pipe (CI) and with the wall thickness of DR series 14, 18, or 25. Design considerations are provided in the appendices to this standard and in AWWA Manual M23, PVC Pipe - Design and Installation (1980).
