Vordringlich beim Aufbau neuer Fertigungsbereiche, aber auch bei bereits mit lauten Arbeitsverfahren ausgerüsteten Arbeitsplätzen stellt ein möglicher Ersatz des Arbeitsverfahrens meist eine akustisch und wirtschaftlich günstigere Lösung dar als die Durchführung von Massnahmen zur Minderung der Schallausbreitung und -übertragung. Daneben sind aber auch in den Fällen, in denen ein alternatives Verfahren noch nicht entwickelt werden konnte, häufig schallquellennahe Massnahmen möglich.
