Bibliography

UDC common auxiliaries of place indicated by brackets 1 to 9, state locality, geographical range or other spatial sides of items of information. They can be quoted with main numbers when the place aspect is secondary, or together with different auxiliaries/other place auxiliaries. Can be used alone, so as to produce a sequence where the place facet only is expressed. Eg. for indexing some types of map. The extended edition has administrative divisions of the UK and Germany to tertiary level. On the basis that there will be a need for tables at extended level of detail for own countries/users of information about the country concerned. The tables go into more detail than the master Reference File, but are compatible with it.
