Gives procedures for processing and archival storage of microfilm that is in roll, sheet, strip or card form, mounted or unmounted. Applies to microfilm on a base of cellulose ester of polyester coated with a gelatin layer containing a conventional silver image produced by the use of a liquid developer, fixer and wash system. Does not apply to dry-processed silver images, diffusion transfer processes, monobath processing systems or halide reversal processes. Covers measurement of residual thiousulfate content, splices, storage media, storage: commercial records, storage: archival records, microfilm inspection and reading, protection of originals and adjustment of microforms to the atmosphere inside the container.
