Specifies the hot wire procedure for measuring the thermal conductivity of refractory products and materials. The method is applicable at temperatures of up to and including 1,500 degrees C and to materials having a thermal conductivity lower than 1.5 W/(m.K) and a thermal diffusivity lower than 10 to the power of -6 squared m/s. Subject to the above limits the method applies to powdered or granular materials.
