This Part of BS2738 specifies the information to be included in prescriptions (prepared by optometrists, ophthalmologists or ophthalmic medical practitioners) and in prescription orders (prepared by optometrists and dispensing opticians and their staff) to enable the correct spectacle lenses for a patient to be supplied. It also specifies the method by which the ophthalmic and other information is to be presented.
