This British Standard describes a method for the determination of the percentage of carbon black in a polyolefin compound. It is not suitable for polyolefins containing fillers which are unstable at 850 °C.
NOTE For such fillers, e.g. chalk, the method will need to be adapted by calibration and the use of blanks, which is outside the scope of this standard.
