Gives general principles to follow when injection moulding test specimens of thermoplastic materials. Details two preferred mould designs and gives examples of other acceptable mould designs and provides a basis for establishing reproducible moulding conditions. Designed to promote uniformity in describing essential moulding parameters and to extablish uniform practice in reporting moulding conditions. Conditions needed to prepare specimens in a defined, reproducible state will vary for each material: mould and machine used. Conditions should be agreed upon between interested partners unless part of an International Standard for the relevant material.
