This British Standard specifies essential requirements, test procedures and other information relating to non-oriented and oriented nickel-iron laminations intended for cores for transformer and inductor applications. The surface of laminations is normally oxide coated, but an additional surface coating (e.g. paint or lacquer) may be required by the customer (see 4.3).
