Describes radiation appliances for skin treatment provided with ultraviolet or infrared emitters or a combination thereof, for household use. Excludes appliances for medical purposes, and ultraviolet, infrared or radiant heat baths or tunnels of the bed cradle type. Additional requirements with regard to radiation at wavelengths less than 315 mm and the form of tubular fluorescent lamps are under consideration. In many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities and other national authorities responsible for safety in the home.
