Describes room heaters for household and similar purposes. Room heaters not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, are within the scope of this standard. Excludes thermal storage room heaters, heaters for saunas, heating cables, heating wall paper, heating carpets and similar flexible heating units, room heaters used in locations where special conditions prevail, heaters specifically designed for agriculture and animal welfare purposes, and heaters specifically designed for use in wardrobes and places intended to be closed. Heaters used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary.
