Describes electric fans and their associated regulators for use on single-phase a.c. and d.c. circuits not exceeding 250 V, for household purposes. Does not apply to safety requirements for fans designed for industrial purposes, fans used in locations where special conditions prevail, fans used in air heaters, refrigerators and air conditioners, fans incorporated in heating appliances, fans in range hoods or mounted in the inlet opening of air ventilating ducts of kitchens, fans for use in ships and jet fans and fans used in vehicles.
