Describes room air conditioners and dehumidifiers for household use employing hermetically sealed refrigerating systems with motor compressors and having a total rated input not exceeding 3.25 kV A for connection to single-phase supplies at voltages not exceeding 250 V. Intended to establish a satisfactory level of safety when the appliance is correctly installed and used under normal household conditions. Does not apply to air conditioners employing water cooled condensers, humidifiers, appliances for use in vehicles or ships, appliances for use in tropical climates and appliances for industrial purposes.
