Covers electric tumbler dryers including those incorporated in electric washing machines. Tumbler dryers not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public are also within the scope of this standard. Excludes the special hazards which exist in places where there are young children or aged or infirm persons without supervision. Does not apply to tumbler dryers designed exclusively for industrial or commercial purposes and tumbler dryers used in locations where special conditions prevail. Tumbler dryers used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary.
