Cooperating organizations
Describes electrically operated commercial ranges, ovens, hob elements and similar appliances for commercial use. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy is within the scope of this standard. Does not apply to hot cupboards, convection ovens, ovens used for industrial purposes, continuous process ovens for mass production of foods, microwave ovens and appliances to be used in locations where special conditions prevail. In many countries additional requirements are specified by the national authorities responsible for health, water supplies and the protection of labour. Includes definitions, general requirement, general notes on tests, rating, classification, marking, starting of motor-operated appliances, moisture resistance and stability and mechanical hazards.
