Gives requirements for the construction, dimensions, testing and marking of corrugated rubber hose of 16mm internal diameter, used on aircraft to deliver oxygen and air, at pressures up to 0.35 bar, from pick-up points on the aircraft oxygen supply system to the aircrew harness. The hose is suitable for use at temperatures between -40 degrees C and +70 degrees C. Includes test method for freedom from porosity, flexibility and resistance to splitting and kinking. Illustrates low pressure oxygen hose for aircraft, gauge for plain ends and bore constriction test bob.

This British Standard specifies the requirements for the construction, dimensions, testing and marking of corrugated rubber hose (generally known as Mark 5A hose), of 16 mm internal diameter, used on aircraft to deliver oxygen and air, at pressures up to 0.35 bar1), from pick-up points on the aircraft oxygen supply system to the aircrew harness. The hose is suitable for use at temperatures between – 40 °C and + 70 °C.

1) 1 bar = 105 N/m2 = 100 kPa.
